Parametric Entomology

To investigate digital modelling and fabrication, insect forms were replicated through parametric scripts. Parameters allowed for “genetic” variation among the digitized family of insects. Renders of the insects were generated to appear extremely lifelike but maintain some appearance of digital origin.

Working from the parametric scripts, architectural forms inspired by entomology were generated. A final artifact was created from CNC-milled plywood and 3D-printed structural elements.
